100 Mile Time Trial

The Caesarean Cycling Club held their 100 mile time trial on Sunday morning in good weather. The first rider was off at 6 o'clock and despite the early hour only two of the nine entries failed to start. The time trial was three times around a selected course starting at La Haule then via Gorey through the country a long the Five Mile Road and finishing at Millbrook. G Audoire riding his first 100 mile, rode very well and did not get caught by W Rowe "the winner" until the end of the second lap. J Richardson finished very strongly and only lost second place by one second. J Wardle was going very well but was unlucky to puncture and rode the last lap on a borrowed machine. W Aubert also had a good ride and he was an hour faster than he was 15 years ago in this event. G Ching also riding his first hundred in his first year, returned a time good enough to take the first handicap prize with Aubert second. Peter Le Gallais retired in his third lap after having mechanical trouble.
