25 Mile Time Trial

Nineteen riders completed in the 25 mile time trial held at 8 clock on Sunday morning by the Caesarean Cycling Club. From the start and finish point at Five oaks the competitors road as far as Plemont via St Martin and Trinity then back to Five Oaks. This course newly picked by the racing committee was being raced over for the first time and proved quite a good one but the unsettled weather prevented any club records being broken. Nevertheless many of the riders improved on their previous "25"times. S. Perchard won with a lead of nearly two minutes and M.Sallai riding very well beat D.Ecobichon for second place by 5 seconds.Most of the other were also very close with only seconds separating some riders, the handicap prize being shared by Clark and Ching who finished together and were equal 1st due to the handicap. Both Mahoney and De Gruchy went of course adding about 20 minutes to there times.
