25 Mile Time Trial

The CCC held their last 25 mile time trial of this season today, the weather was bright but breezy. Twenty eight riders entered at this popular event including three riders from the mainland and one from France. The first rider was off at 8 am followed at intervals of one minute until all twenty eight were on the road, they were not allowed to ride together all receive assistance on the road. Peter Le Gallis was unlucky to strip his pedal after 2 miles and had to retire. The event provided several surprises, in the juniors the champion Don Ecobichon did the fastest time for the local riders and G Banks improved by six minutes for second place followed by J Liscoued on holiday from France. The senior event was won by G Peters a member of the Dulwich Paragon with G Audoire second and C Wagstaffe a member of the Derby Ivanhoe, third G Ching improved his 25 mile time by 11 minutes. In the ladies event Miss C Dowsing improved by 10 minutes to take first place. Miss S Gueno this years B.A.R leader started 13 minutes late placed third with Miss G Audoire second. Most of these competitors will be riding at the People's Park next Thursday evening.
