12 riders set out on their second road race of the 1957 season. The course which was longer than the previous one consisted of six laps the total distance being 38.25 miles, the start was at the top of Jubilee Hill. The bunch soon split into two groups, the first consisting of Wally Rowe, Donald Ecobichon, G.Audoire and Stan Perchard. These within two laps had a 40 seconds lead which they gradually increased to over five minutes. The eventual winner was Don Ecobichon at an average speed of 19.4 m.p.h who for the second time this season narrowly out sprinted Rowe who was placed at inches, Graeme Audoire finished third eight seconds in arrears.
