A busy day

Race Report

The officials of the Caesarean Cycling Club had a busy morning yesterday with three events being organised starting at 6.57 when the ladies set out on a 30 mile time trial. This event was a special one organised due to Miss R.Grant having been knocked off her cycle by a dog in a previous 30 mile and again she was unlucky puncturing before reaching Trinity Church. She kept pumping away until someone met her at Mount Bingham to enable her to finish the course.

In the main event a senior 50 mile time trial for the club cup, seven riders faced the timekeeper and the first man off was D. Ecobichon, who was followed at one minute intervals. In this event D Le Brocq and D. Lidster we are riding their first 50 miles and both had very good rides, with Le Brocq finishing the strongest, G. Clarke also had a good ride improving on his previous best by 15 minutes and 25 seconds. W.Rowe maintained his improving form and won the event and cup from Ecobichon, who also rode his best ever for a 50 mile time trial.

MUCH PROMISE

During the time the seniors were riding a 6 miles time trial was organised for the juniors and nine riders both boys and girls set out from West Park to St Aubin’s and back. Most of these riders were competing in their first event, several showed very good promise and with training should develop, K de le Haye the most experience Junior won the event with J. Callec second and A.Richardson third. Miss J.laffoley was first in the girls event with Miss M. Dowsing second.
